Sui Hackathon Iasi
A high-intensity weekend of building on Sui

Iasi Turned Into a Sui Builders’ Hub
For three days, Iasi felt less like a university and more like a full-on builders’ playground. The Sui Romanian Hackathon brought together a tight-knit community of developers, designers, and product thinkers who showed up ready to build, learn, and push each other forward. From the first hours, the energy in the room was obvious: teams forming fast, ideas being challenged openly, and mentors constantly pulled into discussions. Out of 36 registered hackers, 31 saw their ideas through to submission, a clear sign of the commitment and momentum that carried the event from start to finish.

From Ideas to MVPs, Together
What truly defined this hackathon was collaboration. With 8 mentors covering everything from the Sui tech stack and DeFi to AI, UX/UI, and business strategy, participants never felt stuck for long. The 2 workshops—one focused on setting the tone for the hackathon and one on crafting a strong Demo Day pitch—helped align everyone early and kept teams focused on execution. Long hours, late-night debugging, and impromptu whiteboard sessions became the norm, as teams helped each other refine features, validate assumptions, and transform rough concepts into working products.
Strong Projects, Real Competition
By Demo Day, the room was packed with anticipation. Nine teams took the stage with projects spanning DeFi, AI, and Gaming, each reflecting a clear problem statement and a practical on-chain solution. From on-chain games and developer copilots to AI-powered verification tools and secure DeFi delegation mechanisms, the diversity and quality of submissions made judging genuinely difficult. The $3,000 prize pool added an extra layer of excitement, pushing teams to polish both their products and their pitches until the very last minute.
Winners, Recognition, and What’s Next
ChainFlow emerged as one of the standout projects, dominating the Gaming track and earning multiple distinctions, while Antigel impressed across the AI track with a solution focused on digital authenticity. KVAS, Distribution-Belt, Shoni, and the other teams were recognized not just for winning prizes, but for how quickly they shipped, how clearly they communicated their ideas, and how well they leveraged Sui. More than the awards, though, the hackathon left behind something bigger: stronger connections, new teams, and a shared confidence that this community can build serious products on Sui. The Iași edition didn’t just deliver projects, it reinforced the momentum of the Sui builder ecosystem in Romania.
